i don't know what to comment. can we, the luckier ones do something to make their lives better? well yeah maybe, but only so much. it takes a collective effort here. but then again, who has the heart to stagnate one's own life and success to uplift the not so lucky? very very few.

i guess that's the irony we all face everyday in our lives. We tend to ignore the beggar on the road who asks for alms..we hush them away or speed our vehicles or move away!

in a way i feel what we consider as human rights is "our" standard of view..but we need to give a new definition to this....what they require is "basic rights"..human rights is next pedestal for these under privileged...

We can't do anything..can we?

Life sucks at such time when we can't put forward a helping hand to such people..though they're NOT meant to be looked down upon..
Secondly the descriptions which you gave fr the people had me in shudders..

but then it's you doing these things. right? if you are attending the lecture because you want to, well... you are failing on the practicals. thats the way i see it. if you dont see it that way and just as an everyday thing, well, life is much harsher than this.

what i feel after reading ur post is that u have unmasked all of us. u n me or he or she or they.. no difference excpt one n dat is d fact that u r honest and brave but we all are cowards and hypocrites.. and that's whr lies d difference..that's wat makes u stand apart from all of us.

so many of us wants to do so many things altst we think to do but we don't do anything. some how we r moulded our selves to not to do anything as if that's wat life is.

What a real slice of life this was!Indeed,we are so selfish at times.But then,we are just human after all.

What kind of "love" works for those who desire no salvation, and would control you and destroy you for their own pride or pleasure?

The desire to forcibly save others has led to all this terrorism(In the name of religion or whatever).

Infact, now I come to reasons, if you do the right things with the wrong reasons, its bad all the same.
Hence,understanding human rights is necessary before blindly acting away on them.

I only want to say that its no irony at all which you have written about, these are not two opposites that we are discussing :), they are different manifestations of the same rules.

Its all about perspective na.. It would not have seemed ironical had the speech been on some other topic na..

By force, I meant anything(except logic aquired from any person/experience) which deviates you from an independant path of survival,whether it be willingly done by/to some person or be forcibly done.

There is a smaller picture of instincts and a larger picture of nature, I believe.
Not everytime do they both co-incide, and and only way they can is by independance and learning.
Hence, using anything which generally deviates you from it, is bad.

[The only time, I feel, when they both do not co-incide naturally is 'death' or so it seems to me...I tried rationalising it once, it spelt disaster on me.
But again, I believe we can be in harmony with that too, so there must have been a flaw in my own thinking.]
